Texas Scooter Accident Claims, Locating Insurance, and Battling Insurance Companies

Texas law requires drivers to maintain liability insurance for their automobiles in order to compensate injured parties in the event the driver causes an accident. It is also a good idea to go beyond the minimum required insurance and purchase personal injury protection (PIP) insurance, medical pay (med pay), and underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage to protect yourself in case other drivers do not have insurance or are not adequately insured. Texas law requires owners of large trucks and commercial vehicles to maintain a larger amount of liability insurance for their trucks, buses other commercial vehicles. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not always adequately compensate those injured in serious collisions or the families of persons killed by negligent drivers. They prefer to pay as little as possible on legitimate accident claims when they can get away with it. If you don’t have a lawyer and have been offered compensation on a current claim, it is possible that you are eligible for cash damages many times what is being offered. Hiring an attorney especially in catastrophic damage cases can greatly increase the amount that you recover in your claim for damages.

Whether the accident was caused by reckless driving, mechanical error, and/or alcohol, you need a lawyer that understands insurance companies, can navigate liability insurance, PIP, medical pay, uninsured, and underinsured motorist coverage. You may be able to receive compensation for medical costs, lost wages, future losses, impairment, disfigurement, pain and suffering and other damages. If you have been seriously injured in a scooter accident, it is important that you contact an attorney so you fully understand your rights before proceeding with a claim.

Don't think that if you have suffered serious injuries in an cycle collision that the insurance industry will take care of you or voluntarily pay you for all the medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, impairment, disfigurement, and other damages that you have suffered. They probably won't. In fact, many insurance adjusters will offer low settlement scooter wreck amounts hoping that you will sign away your claim prior to knowing the full extent of your damages. I have also seen insurance adjusters will delay and allow the statute of limitations to run relieving the insurance company of any liability.
