Telemedicine is a relatively new area of health care delivery that
should become more common in the future. Telemedicine is that practice
of having a health care professional examine a patient via
teleconference. This technology has been used to provide medical
treatment to remote places. Typically, a physician or specialist is on
one end of the teleconference and a nurse or local physician with the
patient is on the other end.
This type of medicine is still in its infancy, but in the next several
years we will see it expand. As it does many new medical services will
